Crimes and Cover-ups in American Politics: 1776-1963 Customer Reviews
:- 4.0 out of 5 stars from Herman On the Path -- A Mind-Blowing read for the Sheeple : Given this is a synopsis of cover-ups up until 1963 the title could have ended at 1962 and we can forgive the author for not including certain references that might better explain events. For example Lt Col Fletcher Prouty wrote The Secret Team which was suppressed and wherein he gives excellent insight into the origins of the Korean and Vietnam wars yet he is not mentioned in this book. However we cannot excuse the author bluntly stating on page 13: "He (Ben Franklin) discovered electricity." Despite a common misconception, Benjamin Franklin did not discover electricity during this experiment—or at all, for that matter. Electrical forces had been recognized for more than a thousand years, and scientists had worked extensively with static electricity. Franklin’s experiment demonstrated the connection between lightning and electricity." ( From The Franklin Institute) In praising Jackson, who the author says lost a fortune, the author fails to detail how Jackson acquired this fortune. The author failed to mention Edward Bernays who was so instrumental in the WW1 propaganda campaign, and he failed to point out that FDR increased taxes and then purchased gold until the USA held over 13000 tons,Yet FDR failed to monetize this gold (increase the money supply which could have further stimulated the economy). However given the facts the author does present, the average American who has not read The Devil's Chessboard, The Secret Team, Howard Zinn's A Peoples' History of the United States, Oliver Stone's Untold History of the United States, Terry Reed's "Compromised" or Cody Snodgress's " Choosing the Light" will probably be in shock and denial from Cognitive Dissonance. I recommend and give 4 stars. ( Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2019 )

- 2.0 out of 5 stars from IlirD. -- lotsa puff : Started to tune out (bought the audible), with the excessive Lincoln bashing. What the author failed to mention was that the French were lingering in Mexico and the British were salivating in Canada waiting for the United States to bleed ourselves dry so they could come in and carve up this lovely land of ours. Author goes a little short of defending the Lincoln Conspirators. Lincoln lived in a time none of us would understand, he did exactly what was needed to preserve the Country; jailing suspected spies/reactionaries; Marshall Law; whatever was needed, it was done. He didn't lay the foundation for the Civil War, the South; Judah P. Benjamin and Jefferson Davis did -- puppeteered by the British. Lincoln used what was in his favor and ultimately ended the chaos, then laid the foundation for Reconstruction. ( Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2020 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Haile K. -- Another excellent book from Mr. Don Jeffries - a truth seeker who shines the light on cover-ups. : I rarely write reviews but I would be remiss in not sharing with fellow Amazon readers that this latest, excellent book by Mr. Don Jeffries is outstanding - thoroughly researched, timely, insightful, and a great addition to anyone's library for those who are truth seekers and unafraid to be challenged intellectually on various "sacred saints/sacred cows" in American history, past, present, and future. I bought both the hard cover and the Audible version of this book, as well as the "companion" to this book, Hidden History. I also highly recommend his book, Survival of the Richest. It challenged yet expanded my worldview and caused me to relook at various themes and situations in American life. ( Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2019 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from W. Green -- Everybody Knows that the Dice Are Loaded : Sad but true...Channeling my inner Greta Thunburg…”I dare you to read this book.” It’s well worth the price just for the bibliography. The depressing reality is that fake news, fake heroes, and fake history are continually served up by the power elite, and mindlessly devoured by the masses. The unanswered question is whether Trump can stop the constant propaganda onslaught and ultimately make some major corrections to the history books. For a lighter view of this topic, read my Time Travel Twins series...”Saving JFK”, “Saving Trump” and others as my disenchanted time travelers struggle to “fix” history.
